WHEW! I have not posted anything in SO LONG! It is very difficult to stay disciplined in this life! This is why many health and fitness goals fade away. However, if you work on making it a lifestyle, you’ll eventually come back to it! Between the wedding season, summer activities in full swing and starting a new job at Kellogg’s, everything has been completely crazy to say the least! I’ve still been eating fairly healthy, but not working out as much as I would like. My goals are to increase my activity level (including my blogging!) and get even more creative with meals now that I am packing lunches and need quick, healthy solutions! I recently started working as a registered dietitian at Kellogg’s Company in the nutrition marketing department! I am finally getting into the promotion and communication part of nutrition that I love! Stay tuned for more updates!
Tonight I made an Almond Joy Protein Smoothie Bowl for dinner! “Smoothie Bowls” have become popular recently due to that fact that you can be really creative and consume many different nutrients and flavors right in one bowl! Basically, you make a smoothie or shake the way you normally would, pour it into a bowl and sprinkle with your favorite yummy toppings. You can make fruity varieties with chia/flax seeds, savory ones or even indulgent ones like I made tonight.
RECIPE>>
Blend: 1.5 frozen bananas, 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup Fairlife chocolate milk, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
Top with: raw almonds, frozen blueberries, shredded unsweetened coconut, mini-chocolate chips
YUM and CHEERS, I swear I’ll be back sooner next time 🙂
